At Wider Circle, we know that powerful change can start with something simple like a shared walk, a kind word, or the courage to care for yourself. That’s why we share stories like Glenda’s: to show how community can spark lasting transformation.

In this edition of Stories from the Circle, meet Glenda, a longtime Ambassador who turned her health journey into a mission to uplift others. With support from her Wider Circle community, she found renewed energy, reduced her medications, and became an award-winning connector and leader.

Watch Glenda’s story on YouTube as well to see how movement, motivation, and community helped her feel alive again.

We hope her story reminds you what’s possible when we care – together.

Before joining Wider Circle, Glenda’s days were shaped by a long list of medications – including up to 23 pills a day. Living with asthma, high blood pressure, and joint replacements, staying healthy was critical – but hard to do alone.

That changed when she found Wider Circle. With encouragement from her community, she began exercising, eating better, and taking her health seriously. “They always remind me – take care of yourself, drink water, cut back on sweets,” she said. “It just impacted my life so much.”

Her energy improved, she lost weight, and her doctor began reducing her medications. “It made me feel alive,” she said. “Like a whole new door opened.”

But perhaps the biggest transformation came not just in her health, but in her role as a leader.

A dedicated Wider Circle Ambassador for many years, Glenda has organized events, brought neighbors together, and inspired others to stay connected and well. In 2025, her contributions were recognized when she was recognized during the Wider Circle Ambassador Awards by awarded the Community Connector Award an honor reserved for those who go above and beyond to spark joy, health, and connection in their communities.

For Glenda, it all comes back to one thing: belonging. “There’s a lot I love about Wider Circle,” she said, “but the best part is being needed, and being loved.”

Glenda’s story shows how health, purpose, and community can come together to create real transformation – one step, one connection at a time.

Thank you, Glenda, for sharing your journey and inspiring us all. And thank you to our sponsors for helping make stories like Glenda’s possible every day.
