At Wider Circle, health grows from the smallest moments like a warm welcome, a listening ear, or a neighbor who shows up.
Meet Rojonah H., a single mom of seven. When hypertension entered the picture, her community stepped in and helped shift her everyday life toward health.
Watch Rojonah’s story on YouTube and check it out below see how she went from her diagnosis to family workouts, healthier meals, and a community that keeps her going.

When Hypertension Hit Home for a Mom of Seven, Her Circle Stepped In
When Rojonah was diagnosed with hypertension, she decided to do something about it. With support from her Wider Circle community, she started a healthier new chapter.
As a single mom of seven, Rojonah often put herself last. But when she was diagnosed with hypertension and feared she may become diabetic, she knew something had to change. “Anything I had to do to take care of my health, I was going to do it.”
She heard about Wider Circle about two years ago, and dove right in. Wider Circle became more than just a program, it became Rojonah’s classroom for wellness “I learn a lot there” she said.
Through group discussions, she learned about insurance benefits she hadn’t known existed, including access to a program that covered her gym membership completely. She also learned ways to access practical tools too like blood pressure monitors and scales sent directly to her home so she could track her progress.
Little by little, the habits stuck. She learned how to take her kids to the gym at a discounted rate, and has been working out together as a family. At home, she started cooking healthier meals and swapping her daily soda for water.
Rojonah lost 20 pounds, is no longer prediabetic, and her blood pressure improved enough that she no longer needs medication.

Rojonah said Wider Circle created a “safe space” for her to share her own struggles and also a place where she could simply sit, listen, and learn from others facing similar challenges.
For Rojonah, this sharing created a “connection” that not only keeps her coming back to Wider Circle, but also “keeps me motivated. It keeps me focused” on her own health.

And when groceries were tight, her Wider Circle facilitator personally delivered fresh food to Rojonah and her family. At a Christmas program, Rojonah received household supplies like laundry detergent – items that seemed simple but made a real difference for her family’s daily life. “I needed this,” she realized, feeling the weight of that support.
Today, Rojonah continues her wellness journey with the support of her Wider Circle family. She is an active Wider Circle ambassador and comes to events frequently, often bringing her family with her. \
Rojonah says she loves “bragging about Wider Circle” to her friends “Wider Circle is my family,” she said “It’s the only company I know that actually makes me feel like I’m family. I’m involved. I’m doing something.”
Thank you, Rojonah, for leading by example, and thank you to our partners for helping make journeys like hers possible every day.
