Key Responsibilities to Include Driving Revenue Growth and Business Expansion into New Regions

Redwood, CA – September 28, 2020 Wider Circle, an innovative community care program working with health plans to connect neighbors for better health, today announced that Joe Block has joined the company as chief growth officer. Joe brings to this senior position more than 25 years of sales leadership experience, which he will draw on as he leads Wider Circle’s revenue growth strategy and execution moving forward.

Social isolation takes a heavy toll on those who suffer from it, both in health and overall well-being. Wider Circle was launched around the mission of fostering connections among neighbors to promote social interaction and improve health. Leveraging the power of trusted relationships, the company connects health plan members with like-minded neighbors to combat loneliness while informing, supporting and motivating one another. In this new role, Joe will be responsible for leading the organization’s business development and sales functions with a particular focus on growing the organization’s Medicare and Medicaid business.

“We are excited to welcome Joe Block to the Wider Circle executive management team and look forward to working closely with him as we execute on our growth strategy for the remainder of 2020 and beyond,” said Wider Circle chief executive officer Moshe Pinto.

Darin Buxbaum, chief operating officer, commented, “Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the true potential of the Wider Circle model has become clearer to payers and other healthcare organizations, which presents us with an even greater opportunity to extend the reach and impact of our offering to both Medicare and Medicaid populations, at scale. Joe is a great addition to the team to lead our growth efforts.”

Joe comes to Wider Circle from nThrive where he served as vice president and sales team lead. Earlier in his career, he served in executive sales and partner development functions at Evolent Health and MedAssets and also spent considerable time employed at McKesson Corporation. Joe is also proud to have served as a Captain in the U.S. Army.

“COVID-19 has elevated visibility for the tremendous effect that social isolation can have on an individual’s health, which can ultimately also impact a payer’s bottom line,” said Joe Block, chief growth officer, Wider Circle. “I am excited to join Wider Circle at such a pivotal time. Our mission is focused on serving those most vulnerable populations within the Medicare and Medicaid markets, and Wider Circle programs for these health plan members are needed now more than ever. The more healthcare organizations we can partner with, the greater the number of vulnerable members who can ultimately benefit from our programs.”
