Redwood City, CA – August 3, 2022 – Wider Circle, a tech-enabled community health organization working with payers and providers to connect neighbors for better health, announced that Wider Circle co-founder Darin Buxbaum will be Chief Executive Officer, effective today. Buxbaum, formerly President and COO, will succeed CEO Moshe Pinto, who is transitioning to Chairperson of the Board after co-founding and leading the company with Buxbaum since its inception in 2015.

As Chairperson, Pinto will focus on supporting Wider Circle’s senior leadership team and driving key strategic growth initiatives. Buxbaum, who as President and COO was instrumental in building the infrastructure and partnerships to serve tens of thousands of members to date, will lead the company into its next phase of growth. “With the support of our incredible community, Board of Directors, advisors and investors, Darin and I could not be more excited about this transition. When we embarked on the journey to co-found Wider Circle over seven years ago, Darin demonstrated extraordinary leadership. He supported me as the CEO through thick and thin. I intend to do the same for him as Chairperson,” said Pinto. “Given our strong foundation of executive leadership and the positive financial momentum — including the completion of a $38M Series B funding round last fall – now is the time to evolve our roles to better support the organization.”

Wider Circle was founded around the mission of solving the last mile of healthcare by building neighborhood support groups that drive better health outcomes. Through peer-to-peer engagement rooted in trust, the company restores the community support networks essential to managing better health, improving social determinants of health, and providing a better health plan member experience with lower healthcare costs.

“I am honored to lead Wider Circle as we work together to improve health in communities nationwide,” said Buxbaum.  “I continue to be inspired by the caring way our members and team build trusted relationships that drive positive health outcomes. I look forward to widening our support circles to include every community in the US.”

“Solving an important societal need and founding Wider Circle with Moshe is the honor of a lifetime. I want to thank Moshe for his friendship, leadership and dedication to Wider Circle’s mission that have enabled the company to reach this stage. I look forward to Moshe’s continued engagement as Chairperson of the Board.”
