Claude Pinnock Press Release

Innovative healthcare leader brings a steadfast commitment to improving health equity and clinical outcomes

Redwood City, CA – April 5, 2022 – Wider Circle, a peer-based community health organization working with payers and providers to connect neighbors for better health, today announced the appointment of Claude Pinnock, MD MPH as chief medical officer. Dr. Pinnock is a healthcare industry veteran with deep clinical strategy and digital health experience and brings a strong passion for improving access to better health for all with a focus on social determinants of health (SDoH) – which are credited with making up approximately 80% of modifiable contributors to health outcomes.

In his new role, Dr. Pinnock will be responsible for crafting, directing and overseeing the execution of the company’s clinical strategy for expanding its Medicare and Medicaid business. He will also support the senior leadership team in their efforts to further shape and grow the organization which includes collaborating closely with Wider Circle’s product development, marketing, and sales teams.

“The Wider Circle executive management team is thrilled to welcome Claude as our chief medical officer,” said Moshe Pinto, CEO of Wider Circle. “As an organization, we are committed to nationally scaling our neighborhood health programs and peer-to-peer social support networks for both Medicaid and Medicare and we believe his strong clinical and digital health background combined with his entrepreneurial spirit will be a huge asset to that endeavor in the coming year.”

Dr. Pinnock began his clinical career in the United Kingdom where he earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (B.M.B.S.) at the University of Nottingham and his master’s in public health from Cambridge University. While he began his career as a practicing physician in the Cambridgeshire region, a personal interest in driving the adoption of value-based healthcare in EMEA eventually led to a position at International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM). Following a move to the United States he held leadership positions addressing service redesign, quality improvement, and strategy in both public and private health sectors (Stanford University School of Medicine, Clarify Health Solutions). Most recently, he managed global strategic partnerships in health at Meta, Facebook’s parent company and led their health partnerships innovation team.

“Throughout my career, my commitment to redefining how we care for one another and driving value-based care has steered me towards positions focused on solving healthcare’s greatest challenges through innovation. This is why the chief medical officer role at Wider Circle was such an attractive opportunity for me,” said Claude Pinnock, MD. “I look forward to working in close collaboration with the rest of the executive leadership team to tackle health at the preventative stage and in a way that engenders trust and support within the confines of cultural commonality in order to truly make a lasting impact on the members we serve.”
