David Lowsky, PhD, Brings Extensive Experience in Driving Health Innovation to Head of Product and Planning Role

Redwood City, CA – January 25, 2021 – Wider Circle, an innovative community care program working with health plans to connect neighbors for better health, announced that the company has made a significant investment in its growing technology team with the appointment of David Lowsky, PhD, as head of product and planning. Since assuming this role in August, David is responsible for leading the definition and roadmap for the company’s digital products to support service operations and member engagement, as well as leading planning efforts to guide the scalable rollout of new client launches.

The rapid growth in Wider Circle’s IT resources, which also includes the recent hire of Thomas Carlough, PharmD, as head of data and analytics, is in recognition of the valuable and expanding role that a flexible and scalable technology infrastructure plays, and will continue to play, in the trajectory of the organization moving forward.

The company’s unique technology solutions are central to the Wider Circle Connect for Life® program and instrumental in its successful track record of fostering connections among neighbors to promote social interaction, which includes using proprietary algorithms for member grouping to maximize program participation and results. In addition, AI-enabled outreach and member management portals streamline case management and tailored communication, at scale.

“Throughout my career, I have been passionate about using digital applications, data science and other technology or policy innovations to address meaningful problems in public health, wellness, aging and adjacent areas,” said David Lowsky PhD. “Loneliness in particular has been a critical under-addressed public health concern for years. It is a rewarding experience to be part of an organization like Wider Circle, which is building products and solutions to help tackle this issue head-on and making a true impact.”

David brings to the position a deep background in both technology management and health policy analysis, which includes more than eight years of product leadership and entrepreneurship experience at Nuna (data products for health plans), Google (brand advertising measurement tools), Castlight Health (healthcare price transparency tools) and as co-founder of Amikai (automated language translation products). He also worked at RAND Corporation, where he performed policy research related to healthcare cost containment, healthy aging, and health promotion.

“David brings deep industry expertise in digital health, data science/analytics and health policy. We are thrilled to have him on the team to support the development of our next generation products,” said Darin Buxbaum, President and Chief Operating Officer, Wider Circle.
